Thurs. 4/9 Scores

Post 'em if you got 'em!

Also of note, Woodland / Crosby has been moved from Crosby HS to Fulton Park this afternoon at 3:30.

Should be a great day of baseball with Holy Cross / Seymour as the highlight of the day. Woodland / Crosby and Naugatuck / Ansonia are also decent games.

Till next time,

  1. Crosby beats Woodland 5-4. Sounds like a great game. I view these next few games for Woodland as huge. They've had two tough setbacks here to open the season and how they respond will say a lot of this team. I'm sure Kyle will have more on this game later on.

  2. Seymour beat Holy Cross today 10-3. I'd have to say this comes as a surprise to most, including myself. Maybe not the winner is a surprise, but the final score is certainly eye-opening. I'm sure we will be reading more about this game in tomorrow's Rep-Am as well as any reports on this game from our reader's. I'm sure many were at this game today.

  3. Ansonia over Naugatuck, 11-3. Solid win for Ansonia who appear to be better than I expected with a solid pitching staff led by Pete Lovermi.

Watertown blanks Kennedy, 7-0. Solid win for the Indians.

Wolcott routs Torrington 18-3. Wolcott brought their bats today!

Wilby over Sacred Heart, 2-0. Hearts off to a rough start. Quite an upset here. Hearts off to a slow start with the bats, but I think they will be fine in the long run.

  4. Another good game involving the Hawks. Woodland went down 3-0, and were held scoreless until the 6th. They got 4 runs with a completely 2-out rally in the inning, but Crosby tied it back up in the bottom half. The Bulldogs led off in the bottom of the 7th with a double from Drilon Mustafa and he proceeded to score on a single by Pedro Escarfullery three batters later.

Kyle Georgia pitched well for the Hawks, giving up 3 earned runs over 6.1 innings. Kody Kerski also had a good performance for Crosby, allowing 4 runs in 5.2 innings.

Two tough games for the Hawks in a row, although they very well could be 2-0. They're going to have to find a way to beat Holy Cross to avoid an 0-3 start. Bigger yet that it's the first divisional game of the year.
