Regular Season Finale

Thursday is the last day for a few NVL teams, but for others, it's just the start of meaningful games. Here's the season finale schedule:

Naugatuck at Woodland, 3:30 PM at Woodland HS
Kennedy at Sacred Heart, 3:30 PM at Municipal Stadium
Wilby at Watertown, 3:30 PM at Deland Field
Wolcott at Seymour, 3:45 PM at French Park
Ansonia at Crosby, 6:30 PM at Montoe Park

Holy Cross beat Torrington, 8-0, on Wednesday, to wrap up the Copper Division. The Crusaders will have the #2 seed in the NVL tournament and will play on Tuesday against the winner of the #3 Wolcott/#6 Crosby game.

I'll take: Woodland, Sacred Heart, Watertown, Wolcott, and Ansonia.

  2. What's up with the Woodland Coach, trying to suicide squeeze with a lefty batter, Naugy was playing back giving up the run. Then benching the player when he missed the sign eventhough the runner stopped running and made it back to 3rd right in the middle of the at bat with an 0-2 count. He just showed up and embarrased his player. Why not wait to the inning is over and then bench the player. Message sent without the drama. That's why woodland will never win a state title

  3. Haha Kyle I'm suprised to not see a response? However, I have to agree with MAFU. Steele was a little harsh on that call by yanking sophomore Jack Debiase right in the middle of an at bat. On the other hand, the pinch hitter for Debiase hit a shot down the first base line on the first pitch, plating the runner. Stating that these calls are the reason why Woodland will never win a state title is a little farfetched though, especially since the call worked out in Steele's advantage.
